Youth Community Policing Alliance (YCPA) Engagement Objectives

This program is designed to offer engaging Community Policing short presentations, discussions, and interactive hands-on gaming activities over a two-day weekend program for up to 36 participants. We integrate virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) gaming solutions as viable tools to complement critical areas of Community Policing and reach those kids who are most at risk of falling prey to criminal activity and violent gang membership. Interested participants may sign up through our website, or through referrals from law enforcement, community leaders, parents, teachers, and school personnel.

We place specific emphasis on selecting underserved youth who demonstrate resilience in the face of challenges that impact their emotional, social, and intellectual health, such as those living with a single parent or no parent at all, students managing the effects of bullying, those who experience difficulties within traditional school structures, youth who come from low-income homes, and/or those who have siblings who dropped out of school or became a school-aged parent.

Our program aims to help participants grow and transform by providing them with skills that will benefit them in their everyday lives (socially and academically) and as change agents in the community.

YCPA Faith Based Initiative

The YCPA Faith-Based initiatives play a significant role in complementing the efforts of the Youth Community Policing Alliance (YCPA) program by providing valuable support and guidance to at-risk youth. These initiatives offer a unique combination of spiritual guidance, community involvement, and mentorship, which can be instrumental in helping young individuals navigate challenges and make positive choices.

Community Involvement: Faith-based organizations are deeply rooted in their communities and often serve as hubs for social activities, support networks, and outreach programs.

Mentorship and Support: Many faith-based initiatives offer mentorship programs that pair at-risk youth with caring adults who provide guidance, encouragement, and support. These mentors serve as trusted confidants and advocates, helping young individuals navigate challenges, set goals, and make positive life choices.

Holistic Approach: Faith-based initiatives often take a holistic approach to addressing the needs of at-risk youth, recognizing the interconnectedness of their spiritual, emotional, and practical needs.

Youth Ministry: Many local churches and religious organizations have dedicated youth ministries that cater specifically to the needs of young individuals. These ministries offer a safe and welcoming environment where at-risk youth can participate in activities, events, and programs that promote personal growth, social connection, and spiritual development.

Faith-based initiatives play a crucial role in complementing the efforts of the YCPA program by providing valuable support and guidance to at-risk youth.
